Co-worker is loyal to a corporation smh

I got a co-worker, well ex-coworker now, that is just stupidly loyal to corporation. We work in a law firm, I'm an attorney while they are a paralegal. They are also quite young and this is basically their first real job out of college. I recently got a job offer with another firm with a massive pay increase and better benefits. Suffice to say, taking it was a no brainer to me. Our firm has had a high turnover rate for a while, the partners have done nothing to stem this. We both started at the same time, and within 1 year saw a high churn out of paralegals and attorneys. Now this firm isn't terrible, it's quite alright.

But they pay well below market and justify it that they aren't working you to death like other firms. But this is only partly true when it comes to attorneys, for paralegals it ain't true at all.

Point is I knew my time here was limited and I was just building experience. I'm friendly with all the paralegals and this person would joke how they'd eventually be made senior paralegal despite not knowing anything simply by remaining. Now I'd try to explain to them that they need to lookout for themselves because the firm don't care about loyalty, it is not rewarded but taken for granted.

Now they've gotten recruiters from other firms contacting them to discuss joining them yet they won't even entertain these potential offers because they feel they need to help support the firm at this time due to everyone leaving. They won't even use a potential offer to get a higher salary.

I just don't get how someone so young can think it's good to be loyal to a corp in this day and age.
