Been following for a while,
I'm a Ph.D. student in Music History who's working on how the language of jazz – “improvisation,” and “collaboration” – gets adopted as a metaphor by businesses/corporate America to “sell” coming back to the office amidst a pandemic. If you wanna see an example, read this article, which basically equates hanging at the water cooler as akin to being Charlie Parker at a 1940s jam session.
My question to y'all is would anybody be willing to help me out? I'm trying to gather data of emails, or even just first hand-accounts, of employees witnessing/experiencing this language/rationale. Please don't feel inclined to post publicly, but instead DM me if you're interested. All the research will go through requisite IRB protocols through my university and you can redact any information you want. Additionally, I'll share a link to my personal/professional website in the event you wanna see who I am.
I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but I thought it would be a good place to start. If people have any better ideas for how to compile data regarding what I'm interested in, by all means, let me know!
Peace
