First off let me explain, I am being made redundant so I have been looking for a new job to cover myself for when that day comes in 2 weeks.
I should also explain that I work for a very small team of 3.
So over the bank holiday weekend my boss went for a little vacation with his girlfriend which okay I don't care what he does in his free time but please be careful as there is still a pandemic.
Anyways I am with him all day Monday like a metre away from him because thats where my desk is placed. I come in the next day and my other colleague I shall from hear call him Driver and my boss, boss. Anyways the Driver lets me in and explains that Boss is off sick. He also says ''He must be really ill because he never takes anytime off''. He just told me he wasn't feeling well in the car lastnight'' (They callpool).
Okay fair enough hope he feels better. Thursday comes along and I over hear the Driver speaking to my Boss saying that he has a rasby throat but tests are negative. I took no notice because maybe he was taking a precaution, I had a small suspicion based on what I was told but I had nothing concrette to make an accusation.
I just recieved a message from my boss telling me to take the week off because they are both testing positive and that they're still coming into work because apparently the British goverment don't see it as an pandemic anymore.
So in short my colleagues both have covid and I work in close proximity of both of them and no one thought that I should know…..I am on the vulnerable list and I live with family that are also vulnerables.
I am annoyed and frustated because I am supposed to be looking for a new job but now I am self quarantining myself because I am being a responsible adult and don't want to pass it on. Something they both should have done.
Close the company down for the week or 2 until the virus is no longer transmittable.
Business has been very slow these last few months hence I am being layed off so what more damage could they do financially anyways.
