I work in a medical office that’s part of a larger for profit company, that offers shit PTO. It’s all in a collective bank for sick and vacation, and if you have appointments during work hours, you HAVE to use your PTO, you can’t go unpaid or make up hours. So essentially, everyone has to work everyday and never take time off for anything if they have appointments.
Our company is banking on this making people desperate, because they have “contests” every month to see who from each office can collect the most balances due from patients. The prize? PTO. Capitalism is a joke.
