So I work at a kindergarten, and we have kids from all younger ages and teach after school tutoring to elementary school kids. We are pretty small, but several of the kids have been out the last week or two with Covid, and another teacher as well.
Today, I tested positive for Covid on the self test, and had to call my boss. He said I need to find a substitute teacher for my classes, literally anyone who can come in regardless of if they are a teacher or not. I told him I don't know anyone with an open day shift but I would try. Meanwhile, I'm trying to get tested at the hospital.
Afternoon rolls around and my boss says if I can't find someone I need to come into work. I literally have a fever of 38.3 / 100+, body aches, and hacking, but sure let me just come to work with the children and possibly get them sick, as well as the other teachers in the school.
Im super annoyed and worried because I refuse to go to school with covid. I am symptomatic, no one will benefit from this. Im worried that it might negatively affect my work contract with my employer though which is ridiculous. Sorry if this is too long, I'm just sick and grumpy and totally irritated that the responsibility of replacing myself for the week as a teacher is falling onto me instead of the principal. So mad.
