So I work at a private owned shoe company that has contracts with very popular brands. They pay associates 7.25 an hour with 7% commission and key holders are paid 10 an hour with 2% commission. In the state of Indiana, it is illegal to take back earned tips. So how is it legal to take back commission sales when returning items are not our fault and/or the customer changed mind on the shoes? Especially after making connection with a customer and assisting them for 20-30 minutes.
Also, would someone please explain if a companys policy full time to be 30 hours, why is it not considered overtime after 30 but 40? What if you are part time would that include 30 to be overtime?
