Companies need a reality check

I am in the process of looking for a new job in the range of Customer Succes/ Customer Support. Most of the interviewing process I've experienced goes something like this: HR Interview Interview with your possible future manager A test to check your skills (sometimes not included) Final Interview The offer I personally think these 5 steps are too much. If you can see my resume where it CLEARLY states what I've been doing for the past few years, no point in trying to test me out, although I can understand the idea behind it. However, the company for which I'm applying for a Customer Support role (handling tickets) has started getting on my nerves. The HR interview was pleasant, she was very nice. Before the second interview with my possible managers, I've been sent around 7 tasks to complete and present during the interview – which I did. So…

I am in the process of looking for a new job in the range of Customer Succes/ Customer Support. Most of the interviewing process I've experienced goes something like this:

  1. HR Interview
  2. Interview with your possible future manager
  3. A test to check your skills (sometimes not included)
  4. Final Interview
  5. The offer

I personally think these 5 steps are too much.

So basically, this was the second and third step in one.

At the end of the interview, the managers were pleased and then told me that they'd send another test for me to complete, 8 or so questions. I thought it was weird, usually, there is just one test, but I am desperate to find a new job so I went with it.

I completed the second test before the deadline and was told that the managers would get back to me asap. And they did….with another, third, test consisting of 5 tasks.

I'm thinking about ghosting them or writing an angry email to let them know what my freelance prices are. If the two first tests did not show you that I am willing to play along with your bs, and waste my precious time doing UNPAID work just so I could prove myself worthy, there is no point in giving me another test to complete.

I can prove to be able to do my job once when employed. I cannot do my possible future job, which is still not my job, when I am not employed.

Not to mention that in the ad it is stated that this is a fully remote position, only to be told at the end of the interview with the managers that the first 3 months would be working in the office. Not to mention that no one told me what my salary would be.

The worst part is – all of the companies I've been applying for have treated me this way. Either the info on the ad doesn't add up, or you have to jump through hoops to even be considered for the next round of interviews. Not to mention that nobody tells me the salary until the last interview.

This entire process takes a great chunk of my time and my patience (even though I am unemployed at the moment) because different companies require different things. I'm working my butt off completing tasks for multiple companies at least 10h a day. I can only imagine how people who are employed manage to do any of it – I know I couldn't even make it to the interview due to my shift. What do they expect us to do? Work 23 out or 24 hours and beg for more tasks so that we can show how badly we want the position?

I am sick and I am tired of it. I've been doing this for a month now and I want out.

FYI, I am not in the US and these are not US companies. I am in Europe.
