Company acquisition ruined everything

I’ve been at my job for 4.5 years I put in 2.5 years of extremely hard work in office. I was able to go WFH 2 years ago. At that point, my life became better. My days were more relaxed, I had more free time, I worked independently, and my boss was still happy with my performance. We were involved in an acquisition recently. We went from a small company with less than 500 employees to a multimillion or even multibillion dollar company (healthcare). My leadership has changed, my work programs/computer systems have changed, my policies and procedures have changed, my title has changed, my day to day duties have changed, expectations have changed, micromanagement has heavily increased. Speaking of increases, my pay hasn’t increased but the workload has. My quiet quitting days are over. I can’t even leave my desk for 10 minutes without someone messaging me. It’s like…

I’ve been at my job for 4.5 years

I put in 2.5 years of extremely hard work in office.

It’s like I started a brand new job in a blink. A job I don’t want. I would have never ever ever applied to this position/this job listing had it been listed on Indeed. I chose a smaller medical chain and my original company for so many reasons. I’m really sad this happened. Even worse, any promotions I could have been given or applied for are gone. I’m literally starting over. Even after giving nearly 5 years of my life to my company.

My options are suck it up and do it, or quit and find a new job. I just can’t believe unemployment until I find something else isn’t even an option (I’m in Florida). Just because there’s a job available I should HAVE to work it. Even when it’s not a job I applied for. I already attempted to change my work week to 4 days and accept the loss of income. I work in a team of 10, and we could operate with less if needed. They declined. Full time should fucking be 4 days anyway. It will be one day, likely when I’m already dead.

I do have a side job/my own business on the side, and I’m thinking of just putting in my 2 weeks and perusing it full-time and hoping for the best. I have enough in savings to get me by for a bit worst case scenario. Due to poor financial stability during my childhood, I’m pretty terrified of change when it comes to income/jobs.

Anyone been in my situation recently?

Thanks for letting me vent.
