company changed my schedule from 99% remote to coming into the office Wednesday and Thursday

I was hired as a contractor to a 99% remote position. This means I would only be required in office during big transitions of our project that would be difficult to explain without everyone present. 2 months ago the company I'm contracted to put a directive out that everyone would be required in office Wednesday and Thursday. It's a 1 hr commute there and a 2 hr commute home. I told my manager no. A few weeks ago my manager told me my performance was falling(it wasnt I'm a top performer on my team) and he will need me to come in on those days. I probably messed up here and told him “I understand”. I just did it for 2 weeks and out of 40 cubicles, my team of 3 were the only ppl there. Not even my manager showed up. Today I refused to go in. I texted my contracting firm and told them this needs to get settled now. Waiting to hear back. My manager does not like me bc I'm the only one that stands up to him. He has yelled over teams at each of us numerous times. He can be wildly unprofessional. I've started documenting and recording everything to show her hostility to the team. Will update when more information comes.
