I work for a large commercial construction company. We are union and fairly large; Probably around 70 employees. Company makes lots of money, one owner just bought a golf course.
They have a silent policy that if you use sick pay that you get less of a bonus. I’ve used my sick pay and got $250 before taxes, and my buddy who makes just as much as me got $1200 and used no sick pay. And let me add that I am one of the top employers in the company, I bust my ass and work hard and always stay busy.
I just think it’s fucked to base a bonus on if someone used sick pay or not.
