I applied for a job, had a phone interview scheduled last night at 5:45pm. I never got a call and when I called the number I had after a bit, I just got a voicemail saying they closed at 6pm.
I called a couple times this morning and finally got to the interviewer, explained the situation and got another one scheduled for this evening. However, at the end of the call she said this:
“Alright Snowman, last thing. If you could just send me a screenshot of your call log proving you made the call last night we'll be all set. Because we have a record of every call and I see all the ones you made this morning but none from last night. I want to start off on the right with you and honesty is very important to us.”
On one hand I get it, they assume I just forgot the interview and want to prove I'm actually interested and reliable and not making something up. But on the other hand, wtf. That seems like a big red flag right off the bat. If I didn't need to job I would've told them off. Like, why would I call back multiple times if I wasn't interested?
