I wanted to post this earlier, but honestly wasn’t sure if I was in the wrong headspace before. After reading a few dozen posts here I think it fits.
My supervisor pulled my area to the break room for a quick meeting on a Friday afternoon. We were told the company was giving us a “challenge” that if we accepted, we could have a 3 day weekend for Mother’s Day weekend. The challenge was whatever they felt like we should be able to accomplish in our usual week. So for my department, let’s say prepare and paint 5 truck bodies( I work for a company that manufactures utilities trucks of various designs).
And what was the “reward”? A day off without pay or penalty, or to use up a vacation day.
This felt like a slap in the face. Work harder to lose money or valuable pto time I had no intention of taking for that day. I think not.
