Company is changing point system from 13 to 8 and I’m at 9

Like the title says my company wants t on go to an 8 point system at the end of the year and none of my 9 points drop off before then. Will they be able to fire me even if I don’t miss anymore work between now and when they drop off?? Also they have decided doctors notes no longer keep you from getting pointed and I wanted to know if that’s illegal? Any advice or reassurance would be appreciated because this is one of the few jobs in my area that pays a living wage.
