Company laid me off, now begging to hire me back

My previous company laid me off without notice, due directly to them overspending on marketing (a former coworker sent the notice that was provided to the remaining employees post layoffs as an update, 'overspending on marketing' was the jist) For reference This is a company that DOES NOT provide professional references for employees that leave, however due to my circumstances of being laid off they promised me profusely that I could use them as a reference. Flashfoward to today: I get an email as I begin my day at my new job that now pays me $5/hr more than my previous employer.

They informed me in the email that “several team members have resigned and that they are looking to fill the position and would love to have me back!”

THE AUDACITY

How do you tell a lay off to list you as a reference, then decide that you will not provide said reference, only to come back to the employee and beg them to come back after people quit??

I don't even know how to respond to the email lmao
