I need to start by saying that my company is a pretty good one to work for. Culture is good/fun/energetic, pay isn't outstanding but decent, my bosses are pretty great.
I'm transitioning into a work from home position (never worked from home before) and I will indeed work almost exclusively from there. There may be exceptions to this few and far between. I work for a financial institution and am moving from front line/in-branch work to a completely internal department. Every now and again, I may need to step into the branch to cover a vacation or someone who's sick.
The HR department has decided not to authorize the stipend (it's $25/month to help offset the cost of the bill for the internet, so not a huge amount of money, it's more the idea that's upsetting me) because I'm not TECHNICALLY all work-from-home all the time. It kind of seems like chicken shit to me, and I get that companies are going to find ways to help themselves, but I'm having a tough time not being a little pissed about it. The reason behind me making myself available to come back in every now and again as needed was to be available to help my team when they need it, and feel like I'm being given less for trying to give a little more.
Those of you who work from home: how upset should I be/how hard should I push back on this? If this belongs in another sub (I realize that it may), let me know.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
