so, a few months ago i was promised a raise by my manager and nothing ever came from it. I gave up and decided looking at other jobs this week and got multiple job call backs and offers for places that are paying better and closer to me and i have taken one of them.
my current plan was the work 2 jobs instead of one in a mall near by my house.
my coworkers told me try one more time for a raise at my current job and so i did. i asked for 2 dollars more than what i’m making now, and basically told him about how i was promised a promotion but never got it. today he pulled me into the office and said we can give you a dollar raise and put you in training for the promotion and if you do super good and exceed then we will give you a promotion in 3 months. he didn’t ask me if i wanted this offer he told me this is what was going to happen.
also to add i’ve already put in my two weeks notice for this job.
tbh, i didn’t like this offer, it’s lower than what i wanted and none of the other people in the position i want had to fight for it like i am right now, i wanted to tell him never mind i don’t want to accept this offer but he didn’t give me a chance.
what do i do now? he gave me a raise and a way to get a promotion but i don’t think i actually do want to stay, i know i can be valued else where and i know i can get paid more.
this is also a minimum wage cashier job.
