Antiwork

Considering a career change but I’m worried.

I've been at my current job for 6 years with a small manufacturing company. I've worked my way up through the business to an inside sales type of roll and my pay has increased fairly but inflation has kind of unbalanced that. I do understand working for a small company they don't have the surplus to go throwing out giant raises to keep up with inflation and I'm not mad about it. I know at my current job which is very recession resistant I'm very secure in my position and will have a job as long as the company is around. This bigger company will make me 1 of hundreds of people in this position and I get this dread of “last in first out” while heading into a recession.

I want to know if people think I should stay a big fish in a little pond or a small fish in a big pond?
