Contract – Hourly vs. Salaried

I have not been working for my current employer very long, but have known them to be fair and just. (FTR, they're a very small healthcare organization.) However, my last paychecks have not reflected the hours I've clocked. The employment contract does specify a certain number of hours, but nowhere does it specify salaried vs. hourly, especially since I am required to clock in and out daily. The obvious answer is to only work the hours I will be getting paid for, but does anyone know if they are legally bound to pay me for the hours I have worked?
