Covid pay

This is probably minor in the grand scheme of things but at the end of July I got Covid and it laid me out for over a week. I felt like I nearly died. Now my job is new and has a policy that I need to have worked there for 90 days before I even begin accruing PTO/sick time. I had only been there for 30. So I was just out the 30 some hours that I was fighting for my life. When I got back to work, I started to do my job as normal but I got curious about something unrelated and started looking at HR articles. So I was just out the 30 some hours that I was fighting for my life. Lo and behold they had a Covid policy that expired at the end of July. I reached out to my supervisor and explained that though I am new, the Covid policy did not state it exempted new employees. It simply stated full time employees with no PTO/sick available were eligible for the Covid sick time and technically that is me. It took two weeks to fight for it but I eventually got paid for the days I was sick. At least the ones that happened at the end of July. Still lost out on the hours at the beginning of August. Still, a minor win is a win. Even if I still hate the job.
