I was in a startup which used to make money but during Covid it has couple of months of downtime. Some employees were getting 50% salary and few were getting 80%. But the narcist boss behaved as if he was doing charity by paying people for their 12 hour work shift.
A coworker who was getting 50% salary went on to buy a 25K phone (in INR) while his salary was 20K.
And while he was showing it to colleagues, boss enter the cabin as enquired about the phone. Boss was using a 22k phone.
Seeing the 25k phone, boss shouted that while he is struggling to pay salary, employees on bench are using money for luxuries.
This happened on a Tuesday and on Friday that employee was asked to leave with 0 day notice.
