Coworker acting like she needs to look over my shoulder
I started this new job as a cashier this year, and have been workikg there since about May. Ive had experience from working at yhe same chain of grocery stores so i wasnt a noob when i started.
I have this coworker who keeps telling me how to do things. Like small stuff, “that's not gonna fit” “do you know how to make basic thing wuth this machine” and so on.
Bout 2 or 3 weeks ago i got to lesrn how to work in the bakery we have. There's a lot to remember and i do ask for help, but sometimes its extrs tough to have tine to do everything.
She started the schooling like a week ago. As we use mics to talk to each other (ask for prices, inform each other about work stuff etc) i have hesrd her ask for help too, and how she has also been messing up. Same as me. Were both human, theres no way around it.
At this point i should mentiom weve has a lot of absences, for example sick leave and one person just quit immediately with no warning so the last 2 weeks have been hell for scheduling.
This last week we are celebrating the anniversary of the chain, with some extra deals for example at the bakery, which means theres more to be done by only one person. As if that wasnt enough we re experiencing a heatwave and i cant function well in warm/dry af weather.
So yesterday was a very bad day, i tried getting everything done but unfortunately i couldnt clean everything within my responsibility. I apologized to the girl after me. I told her the deal was making the bked goods fly off the shelves which made it hard to get any thing else done. I barely had time to take any breaks which im legally obligated to take. I had to get help from said asshole coworker.
Today the coworker acted like my babysitter. Literally explaining everything to me as if i didnt know anything. I tried staying calm as i dont like confronting people, i was afraid id start crying.
I finally had enough about an hour before i left. Tols her i didnt appreciate her comments and she just said in the mics (so everyone could hear) that all she did was make sure everything ran smoothly.
Then right after i checked out with my keycard she and the other girl cornwred me and said how much work i left for them. I literally only left 2 things which i had no timw for at all. I apologized, again explained how hard it was today and they passively said “its fine”
Some more facts i wasnt sure where to put :
1) i have been tols before bout said responsibilities and hve been getting better at them
2) ah coworker has texted me on my freetine telling me how terrible i am for not doing my job. Using smileys to punctuate her sentences making it all the more passive aggressive.
3)ah coworker has forgotten to do stuff during the night shift (such as on Friday before my morning shift) when he has been with another oworker who is an expert at the bakery. But i couldnt say anything about that because she didnt know and he apparently sisnt tell her. This took like 30 minutes off my schedule which made the night worse for thw girl he latwr ganged up with. But that was apparently my fault /s
4) told my foreman about how i had some stuff i didnt have time to do. Told hwr what i still was working on and she gave me the go ahead. Told ah coworker but she dint react.
This isnt that much of a rant but im very tired from work/the heat and wanted this off my chest.
Actively looking for a better job.
