Coworkers defending pay-cuts.

For the past few years, I've worked for a local family-owned business. The compensation used to be competitive but when business began to wane this year, we all received significant pay-cuts. It was said that the cuts would “hopefully” be temporary and we would reassess in a couple months. The months came and went without a word from the boss and most of us can't afford our bills. Meanwhile, the boss continues to go on vacations, some of which consist of visiting his second home across the country. His kids exist on payroll while hanging out at the store ordering Postmates from gourmet/restaurants (for the family, never staff). Every time the pay-cuts come into discussion with staff, someone goes “Well, he's got to do this because business is so bad.” Oh and last week, we got donuts for being such hard workers!
