coworkers staged a walkout. want to support but also get paid hourly.

Hi. I work in NYC at the grocery store with Hawaiian cultural appropriation. There has been a lot of drama, theft, violence, police activity, and general unsafe vibes happening recently and there was a straight up fight between management and a crew member yesterday that caused the store to close early. Today on my way to work I find out that a walkout has been staged and almost all of my coworkers are not at work as protest. I just need some advice since I need the money and that is why I work. Has anyone else been in a situation like this and how did you come across the financial security to participate in a strike like this? Or is this just a broke struggle were doing? I live in nyc so everything is expensive and I got rent to think about.

Any advice appreciated!
