Crappy job makes me feel guilty

I work for a company that isn’t very productive and honest with its customers. I’m not going to say the company name for my safety but it deals with insurance. To give some context I’ve been with this company for almost a year as a call rep. I was with a group of other workers going through training sessions for 4 weeks. This training did not give us the proper info for the job and did not prepare us in the best way. A year later, I have had some calls that just make me want to quit my job all together. To give some context I’ve been with this company for almost a year as a call rep. I was with a group of other workers going through training sessions for 4 weeks. This training did not give us the proper info for the job and did not prepare us in the best way.

A year later, I have had some calls that just make me want to quit my job all together. The main reason why is because of how we handle situations. If I have a customer who had their policy cancelled a couple months back with no paperwork ever received or an email stating her insurance is cancelled, I can’t do anything about it but say that she has to seek other coverage. I have brought it up to my manager but it either gets dismissed or it doesn’t get taken care of. This has happened on multiple occasions which makes me more infuriated with how we handle things.

A situation in particular that makes my blood boil would be when a customer never had her monthly payment debited for over 6 months. She was enrolled in automatic withdrawal and never received any forms that stated she was taken off. Because she did have another policy with our company that was being properly debited, she never suspected a thing. Now she owes over 1500 that she doesn’t have! When I contacted my manager about it and asked for her guidance, she never responded to my message and then proceeded to message me the next day about something completely different.

You may ask…”Why don’t you quit ” I can’t quit because I am a college student who relies on this job for financial stability and would have to unenroll from the university in order to afford a living. Idk how long I can work for before I completely lose my shit.
