Cross training is bullshit

I went in for an interview at a hotel yesterday for their valet position. After the ridiculous 45 minute interview with two managers they told me I would need to be “cross trained” so I can also check in/out guests at the front desk, perform the other responsibilities of front desk, and also be able to perform maintenance inside the hotel rooms like clogged toilets/drains etc. So essentially they wanted to pay me $15/hr for the valet position and also make me perform all of the other tasks for the same hourly rate. Cross training is just a way for employers to make you do everything without giving you a raise. Younger me would've accepted, but I see right through these companies bullshit now. I feel bad for the kids who don't know any better accepting jobs like this, their hard work will never be rewarded.
