Crunch gym whackness

So I decided to become a personal trainer because life as a musician in COVID is extra hard. I have an 80% sale rate meaning if I do a free promo with you, 8 out of 10 people sign up with me. That isn’t so bad eh? My pay for 6 days of work was $100. My manager confirmed that was correct. I am supposed to sell 30 min sessions and so I give my clients 30 min. I prep and clean up outside of their paid time. The gym refuses to pay me for the 10 min I spend on their lesson plans and cleaning. They insist I click out and in at exactly the training time and not a minute more. My cat died while I was visiting family overseas.

I was supposed to land and then go to the gym to train and I decided to call out because I think it will be really hard for me to go home to an empty apartment with my baby’s fur and belongings everywhere.

I asked the front desk

“Can y’all please cancel… (Insert explanation of cat and emotions here)… thanks for understanding”

And I immediately got a text from my manager that my tone was “authoritative and demanding”

They won’t let me access my schedule except for on site so I am unable to change anything and if it isn’t changed the client gets charged and I can’t get their money back for them.

I of course texted my clients individually about my cat and the situation and they were understanding but they said when they called the front desk that the front desk said they can’t change their appointments…: which is blatantly untrue

I thought personal training was going to be a good side gig for me as a musician. I used to be an all American and I have been a head coach since I was 18 years old.
I am so upset I want to no show BUT
My clients are amazing. For instance, one client started with me at age of 59 and did her first push up. I work with beginners and all of them are doing their first tricep dip, bench press, etc and I am so proud of their achievements. I do this job because I care about them, but my job doesn’t care about me.

Do I give two weeks and tell my clients what? I am so upset about so many things at this job. I am really good at it but they are being somewhat abusive of me.
