The customer is always right now matter how terrible they are to the employees and the company usually takes their side and even gives them a gift card for their trouble. Time and again I have to deal with rude customers who have never had to work a customer service job in their life and will complain and ask for the next people up the ladder until they get someone who will give them what they want, validating their behavior. One example is a customer who threatened to come back and shoot up the store who management would not ban because according to his membership records he buys a lot of groceries.
What I suggest is a system where all customer service companies create a database where we can ban people not only from the chain we work at but also others that are connected to the same database. And maybe even have a program that rewards people for being nice. Maybe someone will think twice before screaming at me over something that was their fault when it will ban them from my store, walmart, target, mcdonalds, taco bell, and discount tire.
