I work with Medicare insurance and hate this crap. My job title is “member advocate” but there’s honestly very little I can do to help people since I’m not an insurance agent. My job is basically getting people to the right place. Call center crap, right?
Anyway, I’m sitting there today, taking calls, when this dude comes on the line and starts cussing me out. Saying that we screwed him over on his plan and he wants to cancel it. We’re a broker, so plans have to be canceled by the carrier. I tell him this and he goes OFF. Pretty impressive, but anyway, I try and deescalate the situation and he says “I’m gonna blow your ***** brains out.”
I don’t get paid enough to deal with crap like this. I’m a college student just trying to finish my freakin degree yet threats and downright rude behavior is crap I have to deal with everyday.
The problem isn’t me, my dude. Instead of threatening to murder me, how about you take a good look at the system that did this to you.
