Hi, this is my first self applied part time job. I only once worked as a holiday job for a family member. I’m a student trying to save money for a trip in a few months. During the interview (my now boss?) kept on emphasising the importance of being able to take others shifts if someone can’t come that day. I understand that but, she said she expected people to give up their plans for the work. Then she went over sickness days, giving an example of a former worker coming to work with a broken leg then given a chair to sit at the counter. I will be going over my contract with a friend on Monday but for now this is what I know.
