Didn’t get a job due to politics.

I’m so fed up. I’ve been working for a school district for the past five years in a full-time but non benefit role- as a reading interventionist. On top of it, I’ve been working another job for the last three years in maintenance for another full-time but non-benefit role as a janitor. When a janitor opened at the school, I applied hoping my good standing in the district coupled with my years experience in janitor and maintenance work would get me the job. But no, they hired a substitute teacher in the district, with no prior janitorial experience, because he has kids in the district. I am so frustrated. I am tired of working 90 hour weeks and getting nowhere. I work and work hoping that my hard work will one day pay off but I don’t know if it ever will. I seem to be looked over for everything.…

They gave him the job because the district literally did not want to upset a parent. I have no in anywhere it feels. Every time I apply for a good job I’m not even given the time of day despite my constant accolades as my current jobs. Hard work really gets you nowhere and life. All people do is take advantage of my work ethic.
