Lately, I've been feeling like my Employer is looking for a reason to get rid of me. I been with the company for almost 10 years, and worked very hard and made sacrifices to be a model employee. Over the years:
-
I've got denied 7 promotions
-
Faced a potential layoff due to branch consolidation and no assistance with job placement.
-
Almost getting tricked into taking a demotion to stay with the company by the General Manager and HR Manager (which both were let go months later due company consolidation of positions. I know, ironic)
-
No training programs to help move into a new role.
-
Taking job assessments that is very a huge “red tape” in preventing qualified people from interviewed for the job. If you don't pass the assessment, you don't get interviewed. Did I mention that it's discriminatory and does not offer any opportunities to train in areas that would help you successful in the role? It's completely BS and discriminatory.
Anyway, an issue arise that took place years ago that was legit but now the company is facing a loss because of it. They've been investigating the issue for a while and so far, no discipline action or termination papers. It's now stressing me out, which is interfering with my current performance and feeling uncomfortable with anything I do now. In addition, It's impacting my mental, emotional, and physical health. I started job hunting in fear of suddenly getting fired.
I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know if I should hire an attorney or what.
