So the company I work for can't keep any employees, and the mandatory overtime has always been in place. We've all suffered through it. However, now they're saying we have to do even more. Either 8 hrs a day 6 days a week, or some other combination that adds up to 48 a week minimum. And it seems like it could even go up from there.
At first I thought, eh it'll be fine. More money, whatever. But I'm so exhausted, I have no free time for hobbies, relationships, going to the gym, anything.
I've also been getting migraines more frequently than before. I went from once every couple months to just about one every week. If I get a doctor's note saying I can't work OT, I've been told by other co-workers that I won't be considered for promotions or raises, even if the promotions aren't salary or require OT as part of the job.
Is this allowed? Wouldn't this be considered retaliation? Any legal experts on here?
