Does anyone else believe that the “red scare” was only propaganda pushed by elites into scaring the working class into more economic darwism beliefs?

The United States in the early 20th century was headed towards socialism and workers rights. But after the red scare it was unacceptable to think that way. We went from 4000 communists banging on the factory of Henry ford's doors(1932) demanding change, to communists being killed and jailed (see 1954 William Remington) in just 20 years the US had decided that communism was deserving of death. The octeber revolution had alot to do with the general US's belief, however if not for the propaganda pushed by the government and social elites I firmly believe that in 2020 the United States people would have better laws protecting workers freedom maybe even universal healthcare. I understand the servirty of the USSR's crimes and I am not a communist people should believe what ever they want without repercussions. I believe that a properly regulated capitalist socialist hybrid would be preferable. However the brainwashing…
