Was job hunting when I saw my current position posted for a higher wage. I contacted HR and they told me that they provide indeed with a wage range and indeed must have selected the highest end of the range to post as the starting salary. She told me she'd take it down on Monday and as of today the posting is still active with the higher wage stated as the starting wage. Don't know if it differs country to country but I'm in Canada.
