I was chatting with this couple on the ferry last week, and thought “boy, they need r/antiwork …
Long story short, she is the inside sales manager for an industrial manufacturer, he is the scheduling manager for production. They *both* work 12-14 hours a day, plus weekends. And they were *proud* of being so essential to the success of the company. And all the while they were telling me this, they were also complaining about being tired all the time, never having time off, staffs not trained (whose fault is _that_???), doing the work of 4 people and not getting any extra money, etc.
As we got to the dock, I think my parting words were “I can tell y'all love your jobs and your company, but you really need to take some time for yourselves. Y'all have a great day!” and left to continue my travels – on my PTO…
Don't be these people!
