Leaving my current company has been a long time coming. Been with the same company for over 3 years in 3 different positions during that time. Each “promotion” they offered no salary increase and pushed back when I asked about it. The first move I was able to get 10% and the second only 5% (a portion was also the annual merit increase). This last transition started November 2021 and I did not see the pay increase until June 2022. They promised me backpay and lied. My boss “tried” to get me more pay and was denied.
So I began interviewing at other companies and quickly realized how underpaid I actually was. Accepted an offer less than a month after I started applications for nearly $25k more than I was making. I put in my notice last week on Thursday and got a call from my supervisor today stating that it's my last day and I need to turn in all of the equipment I have.
After 3 years, this the respect I'm shown. It's comical honestly. Don't bother giving an employer a notice because they sure as hell won't give you notice when they let you go. At least I get a 2 week vacation before starting my new role now:)
