I work at a goodwill as the dude at the donation door and it can be hell. Especially on the weekend, there are times the horde just keeps coming one after another with their entire car overfilled with stuff that they give to use faster than we can put away. When we ask for help, we get told we're wasting other employees time and making production go down. During a meeting we had, where they also go mad at us for not being the mythical man they described who could do everything alone, they thanked us for doing our job and said that the people at other goodwills. However, we still get payed the same as the other people at those goodwills for 4 times the work.
P.s. This practice might not apply to the goodwill in your area due to there being 155 different companies called goodwill with the same branding and purpose.
