Don’t hold your breath for equality

“Wage laborers do not have access to the surplus value their work produces. Rather, it is, profit for the capitalist. Similarly, core economics profit by exploiting peripheral economies.” – Gunder Frank (1967) ​ In other words, capitalism, by design, requires inequality. It was never intended to be a fair economic system that benefits all. Underdeveloped countries remain underdeveloped so that developed countries can remain developed. Otherwise, it would not be “capitalism.”
