Don’t want to quit but scared to ask for time off

Basically my workplace is in desperate need of bodies (as the hiring manager says it recurrently, bodies) and like 4 of the 7 permanent workers are going on vacation all at once really soon. I'm a new hire still on probation , but i'm having a really bad time mentally. I recently had a major psychosis after switching to night shift and not getting sleep. Pretty sure i have bipolar, as i didn't sleep for like a week and barely ate anything and was very wired and depressed at the same time. Now i am irritable, wired off like 4 hrs of sleep nightly. I take one med that doesn't seem to help (prescribe by gp who is pretty naive with psychiatric disorders). Sill waiting to see a psychiatrist for a diagnosis but that will take months. This job was my re-entry into the workforce and if i quit i think it will be a major setback. At the same time, I value my mental health and sleep schedule ofc.

If i ask for time off ik they will be guilting me or really pissed. I know one guy demanded for time off here and there and they threatened to fire him, but he stayed on because he's a spare employee anyways. I had taken half a week off like 3 weeks ago because of my episode. Employers aren't lenient to people who display any weakness, especially new hires. Ik that bipolar population is like 60 % unemployed but i don't want to be part of the statistic. It's not a great paying job but its better than all my previous ones. This is a huge dilemma for me, and i might just have to go in and show my cards.
