Don’t work for a promotion. Leave for one.

I work at a credit union. Someone just told me they worked for a year and a half just to get a raise from $21 to $23. Still barely a livable wage where I live. You shouldn’t have to beg, sweat, smile at people you don’t wanna smile at or kiss asses of men who would replace you in a heartbeat. Why put in a year of hard work for a 5k raise and a promotion when you can leave for an extra 15-20k. I’m not working my way up. Ill be going to school for coding. After that, I’ll leave each company for higher pay until I’m satisfied with my salary. Don’t sweat for people who would let you starve and not blink an eye.
