Double standard WFH

I just tested positive for Covid, and my workplace still has a quarantine policy in line with CDC guidelines. (Which is good but…) I am an exempt employee who is required to work on site for my job. I had to fill out a survey and one of the questions was: “Are you able to work from home?”. I said no. I get an immediate reply back that I am indeed eligible to work from home since I am an exempt employee and that I may use normal sick time or request extended leave. So I am required to isolate per their policy, but am not extended any additional leave for it. When I probably got the dang virus from the workplace anyway. Ugh.

Why the double standard????

I am only allowed to work from home if I am sick and would otherwise not be showing up on site. Covid has made the expectation to work through sickness even worse in workplaces like mine.

The second I find a job that pays the same or better and lets me be remote I am leaving without a second thought.
