About 2 years ago I worked for duda.co. During COVID. It is a website builder that caters to smaller businesses.
The work was supposed to be about finding bugs and getting them fixed or sent to product. Instead it was as a job about showing the general public how to make websites.
This was difficult being that not all clients have any idea how html css js or the INTERNET works.
One day a guy, let's call him anus, calls in furious that he cannot get is “podscript” from Google on his page. (WTF is a podscript?)
After over an hour of anus yelling, cussing, threatening me he tells me to fuck off and hangs up. I call my boss, let's call him bossman, about this call. He tells me to have a thicker skin.
About a week later, I started getting emails at work and at home with threats to my family, my dog, my house. Weird.
I got an email from anus asking if I enjoyed the notoriety several weeks later. I send the email to bossman. He calls me laughing and says this job can't be taken personally.
I gave my 2 weeks notice after an email arrived with a photo of my house and no response from bossman.
Moral: workplace threats from clients are pathetic and companies should take them fucking seriously!
