In early August I was officially offered a position with my state's power company as an industrial service electrician. I know, thats a lame dream job but I love my trade. Their HR rep emailed me the offer, I accepted, and she waited a full 7 days before emailing me again to set up my background check and drug screen / physical. After completing both, she ghosts me again for another 14 days. During this time, I reached out to her multiple times to no avail. Fast forward to yesterday, when I finally emailed the hiring manager directly and informed him I had not heard from HR in over 2 weeks, and was hoping to finalize my paperwork and get a start date. That email also went unanswered. Today I received an email from the HR rep saying my offer was rescinded and I was no longer being considered for the position, and that they would no longer respond to further attempts to contact them from me. This was going to be a major step up in my life. Real benefits, a pension, an hourly wage I deserve. I feel like someone took the wind out of my sails. I genuinely enjoy working. I was elated when I received the offer. Now I'm sitting here, heartbroken and stressed the fuck out about going back to my shitty job contracting. Fuck work, man.
