I'm dating a great girl but she's been getting her hours cut to miniscule amounts without warning. I have a career lined up where our household income (if I move in) would be 60k. Is this even doable nowadays? Lets say she stops working, shouldn't I be able to support her and two kids on my job that I had to go to school for 4 years to get? She's very independent and she wants to work but her job is shafting her to 30 or fewer hrs a week. So this post is a double whammy where my future spouse has her hours cut without notice and me who couldn't support just the 2 of us in our location. Wasn't there a time when a single income was all that was required (and forced because of sexism)? Now two working adults is required to just rent let alone buy a house.
