Dying on the lunch break hill

I’m in Massachusetts. Im salaried and work 9 hour days with a 30 min unpaid lunch break, so really 9.5hrs. I recently decided I want to get back to my life earlier and so I don’t eat lunch anymore so I can leave after only 9 hours. Now my employer is potentially threatening disciplinary action, and considering how I’ll probably respond to it, there is a chance I get fired over this. It’s not like my break was actually a break, it would only take me 15 minutes to eat and if my phone rings I’m responsible for answering it. Does anyone know the law related to this? I feel like I’m technically taking my lunch break but it just happens to be at the end of the day. I would rather not eat and get my precious half hour.
