Egotistical bosses are the reason for high turnover

I quit my job last month for a lot of reasons, one being micromanaged and degraded by my ex boss. This store manager at a place that rhymes with Hallcart, was always watching over me like a hawk yet was Mia whenever a manager was actually needed. She would even send people from other departments to follow me while I was doing go backs, if she wasn’t doing it herself. She has always treated workers like crap, one example was when a customer dropped a jug of juice and instead of calling a custodian, she made me wipe it up with paper towels (which is unsanitary and would’ve been better with a mop) and i was the only cashier working there at the time. A week ago, I tried to turn in what was ultimately property of the store (uniform, work phone, and walkie) and she had a smug look and literally shut her office door in my face, without even considering or asking what I was doing. She probably thought I was there to beg for my job back (which I would never do in a trillion years) and it irks me how I tried to be civil but she was so unprofessional about it. As much as I wanted to roundhouse kick her lazy ass, I’m just glad I’m at a new job that pays more and has better management.
