Email from Boss changes employee shifts requiring OT on an “as needed basis”.

The “Boss” sent out an email, on short notice, (Friday afternoon effective Monday) informing the company employees that shifts were going to be changing. Respectively with this change, my shift is going from a M-Th 10 hour shifts to a M-Fri 8 hour shifts +Saturdays to be OT and “required” on an as needed basis. I'm perfectly ok with working a Monday-Fri (though I do like and prefer my M-Th.) but being required to work any Saturday at their whim (“…when told to”) I am not. I thought OT was supposed to be a choice? Am I going crazy???
