I have been an avid reader of this thread for quite a few months now. I have noticed several posts mention worker's contracts in other countries (I'm in the US). Can someone explain this to me a bit more? I think I understand that it provides some protection to the employees from getting fired on the spot for no reason. Is that correct? Is there more to it than that? Also, what countries do this and what else does it provide? I have so many other questions but I don't want to write a novel. Wife and I have been wanting to move out of the US for years. We have the means to do so but I don't want to get over there and risk losing my job without any support from family and friends. I will try to provide more context as needed.
