Employee “Wellness” Service Won’t Help with Work-Induced Stress Because it’s a “Conflict of Interest”

I work for a pretty big company. Over the last year, I have been put in some extremely stressful work situations that severely compromised my mental and physical health (they dangled a raise over my head and then told me I can't have one because no one else gets one after making me work overtime for three months straight and then having to apply to keep my own job). I am in a state of pretty severe burnout and am trying to take disability leave/get accommodations, and that process alone is crazy stressful because HR at my company is the worst. I have been going down every avenue possible of trying to get help (and understanding my rights), and today I called the HR-sponsored Employee Wellness service.

Only to be told that they cannot help with any work-induced burnout, stress, or mental health issues because it is “a conflict of interest” as they are paid by my workplace. They referred me to HR. When I told them HR caused a lot of my current problems, they basically said “we have no further resources for you, sorry”.

While I would love to quit and just be done with this horrible place, I can't do without the health insurance right now (I have a chronic illness that requires insanely expensive meds). I'm also like two months away from being vested in my retirement plan (and being able to pull any of the money they've taken out of my account) AND if I can make it another five years my student loans go away (and will save me like $60k in the long run). Which is definitely incentive to just suck it up and stay. I've tried to look for other jobs, but am honestly so burnout and unwell at this point, I'm just finding it overwhelming and I don't think I would do well somewhere new in my current condition anyway.

I know we all know this, but the work culture in the US is the worst. And employee wellness is a complete joke. Why even offer something like that if they can't help with work stress?

This was mostly just a rant about the ridiculousness of my current situation. But if anyone has any suggestions/tips for getting over burnout when work isn't changing, let me know.
