A coworker rightfully received a promotion, leaving his position vacant. Employer immediately posted the position, however the pay advertised is more than I am currently making. I’ve only been at the company a little over a year so I don’t feel like it is purposely malicious, especially with the profession I’m in being in high demand of licensed employees. Which I am.
The question is how do I go about bringing this up to my manager/ HR? I’m thinking of just applying without saying anything to let them bring it up first or should I be more straight forward and just shoot an email?
